GSP OpenCart Migration

Move your OpenCart store to Shopify

Products, options, categories, customers, full order history, coupons, attributes, information pages and SEO, migrated in one go from OpenCart 1.5 to 4.x. 301 redirects keep your Google rankings, and your OpenCart store keeps selling until you switch.

Install on your store

Enter your Shopify store domain to install or open the app:

How it works

Four steps, all inside your Shopify admin.

Connect

Install our read-only extension from your OpenCart 3.0.x or 4.x admin and paste its connection code. OpenCart 1.5 and 2.x use a small bridge file instead.

Choose

See how many products, customers, orders and pages you have, and tick what to migrate.

Preview

Run a free preview with 10 of your own products as hidden drafts.

Migrate

Pay once and migrate everything. Follow live progress and get a full report.

Everything comes over

Not just products: the data that runs your business.

Products & options

Select, radio and image options become variants (up to 3 options), with prices, special prices, models, SKUs, barcodes, stock, weights and every image. Checkbox, text, file and date options are saved in a metafield and can be shown on your product page with LivePrice Variants.

Categories → collections

OpenCart categories become Shopify collections, with products already inside.

Customers & addresses

Names, emails, phones, address books and newsletter opt-in. Customers are never emailed.

Full order history

Original order numbers and dates, chosen options, taxes, shipping, coupons and statuses. Finished orders are archived, as Shopify does.

Coupons

Percentage, fixed and free-shipping coupons with limits, dates and product/category restrictions.

Attributes & specifications

Product attributes (Material, Size chart…) as Shopify metafields with definitions. The OpenCart product details theme block shows them as a Specifications table, with Model / MPN and quantity discounts.

Information pages

About us, Delivery, Privacy and Terms pages become Shopify pages, images included.

SEO & 301 redirects

Meta titles and descriptions, SEO keywords as URL handles and redirects from old product, category and page URLs.

Choose what to migrate

Tick exactly the data you want. Everything is selected by default.

Read-only & safe

A read-only extension for OpenCart 3.0.x and 4.x (or a bridge file on 1.5 and 2.x), signed with its own key: your OpenCart store is never changed and keeps selling, even in maintenance mode.

No duplicates

Re-runs update existing records instead of creating copies.

Migrate changes

Bring over new orders, customers and edits until the day you switch your domain.

Questions

Will my OpenCart store go offline?

No. The app only reads from OpenCart through a read-only extension (or bridge file). Your store keeps selling the whole time.

Which OpenCart versions are supported?

OpenCart 1.5, 2.x, 3.x and 4.x. On OpenCart 3.0.x and 4.x (4.0.x and 4.1.x) you install our extension from your OpenCart admin (Extensions → Installer) and paste its connection code: no FTP needed. On 1.5 and 2.x, or if your host blocks the installer, you upload one small PHP file next to config.php instead.

Are my customers emailed during the migration?

No. Customers and orders are created silently. Customers can set a password later through a Shopify account invite.

What happens to orders placed after the migration?

Use Migrate changes (Migration Update add-on) to bring over new and changed orders, customers and products right before you switch your domain.

Can I migrate more than one store?

Yes, with the Advanced plan. Each OpenCart store is migrated once, and several stores can be merged into one Shopify store.

What happens to checkbox, text or date options?

Shopify variants only support choices like select, radio and image options (up to 3 per product). Other options are saved with their prices in each product's custom_options metafield, so nothing is lost. Show these options on your product page, with prices, using LivePrice Variants.

Do I keep my Google rankings?

Meta titles and descriptions are kept, SEO keywords become URL handles, and 301 redirects send old product, category and information page URLs to their new Shopify pages.
